You’d know a cafe is worth checking out if it’s far from town and yet people find time to pay it a visit. Arca’s Yard Cafe is located in Tiptop, Ambuclao Road, Baguio City and we have to admit, its proximity is a bit of a hassle. But once you get to visit it you’d get to understand why its customers keep coming back and not mind the long jeepney/cab rides. Trust us, it is so worth the long travel time.
Our Editor-in-Chief was in Davao City when he saw our photos on Instagram checking out an art exhibit in Arca’s Yard Gallery. Of course he got envious and felt left out like he normally does. That’s why when he got back to Baguio, the one of the first things he did was to drag us to Arca’s Yard Cafe and its art exhibit (which we’ll tell you about in another post). We pretended we hated it, but deep inside, we were just as ecstatic to go back.
We’re not really sure about this, but judging from its structure, Arca’s Yard Cafe looks like one of the many houses-turned-into-cafes. All of us can be really awkward most times. We really have to work on our confidence especially when it comes to asking the history about the food establishments we review, considering the fact that this website is the only hobby we take seriously. Haha
You know that place in France where lovers can put padlocks on a certain fence to signify that their love for each other is, well, “padlocked” (what)? Arca’s Yard Cafe also has that!
The huge window panels were so photographic. We swear, Arca’s Yard Cafe gave us a lot of ideas for our future house.
All the tables inside were occupied. Luckily there was a vacant table on the balcony that had a great panoramic view! And it was just awesome.
Our Edior-inChief’s face enjoying the view! This day was also when the temperature in Baguio dropped down so sitting here felt more awesome!
Now, let’s proceed with the food.
First, the Pesto Carbonara. (PHP220) Saying that we love pesto is an understatement. We have tried different kinds of pestos from different restaurants in Baguio City and each has its own gimmick. Arca’s Yard Cafe’s Pesto is infused with Carbonara flavors!!! We give it 5/5. The serving is also huge. It is enough for two persons.
Camote Pie. (PHP95/slice) This was a first for us. We never had a camote pie in our entire life before we had this.. We’re glad we tried it. With the vanilla ice cream on top, you have the perfect dessert!
Benguet Coffee Black (PHP45) We really can’t imagine Baguio without its own blend of coffee. When we saw on the menu that they had the Benguet Coffee, we knew we had to have it.
Here are some photos we took from the 2nd and 3rd floor of the cafe.
(LOL awkward composition because we were awkward)
Everything about its interior felt like Baguio ten years ago or so. Every corner was perfect for photoshoot. HAHA we swear, our future houses may look like this.
Have you been to Arca’s Yard? Do we share the same feelings about it? Tell us about it!
