Running on its 24th year, Fete De La Musique has taken the stage all over the Philippines throughout the month of June. and that of course, includes Baguio City. Just like last year, this concert took place at Malcolm Square, with a list of new, but also familiar, bands to listen to and follow.
Despite the weather being gloomy, this did not dampen the spirits of the audience and the performers. With umbrellas in hand, the crowd built up slowly, starting from late in the afternoon all the way to the evening.
There was also a live mural making to complete the artsy vibe of the event. Artist Venazir Martinez headed the project. She is known for her Cordilleran themed murals scattered around Baguio.
Here are the bands you need to know about: The Bandang Shirley, Turncoats, Brass Pas Pas Lite, CamelHump, Amateurish, JCBX, Dott Seki, 10 AM Departure, Assembly Generals, Mantra x Makina, Tarsus, Rusty Machines, Cesar Salcedo, Alan Ceba Del Rosario, and Prymbone x Jethro Sandico for the DJ set. Look them up. Follow them on Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, Soundcloud, wherever they are. You won’t regret it.
Being only its second year in Baguio, many people have warmed up to this chance for good, free indie music, with dancing and drinking up til midnight.
