Baguio City has grown to be known as a hub for education in the North, with tertiary students making up a large chunk of the city’s population. As students from other provinces come up to Baguio, looking for a place to stay becomes a concern and a challenge.
Fortunately, there is now a newly launched website called GrabHostel where you can conveniently search for available transient and boarding houses!
We got to attend the launch and even learn about the family behind it all – the Delos Santos family. This startup was founded by the head of the household himself, Sherwin Delos Santos, who was inspired by his family’s own experience when his sons chose to study in Baguio. Now, they hope to help more parents from different provinces looking for the best and safest places to stay for their children.
They also cater to the owners of these houses and apartments, providing them free advertising and becoming middlemen throughout the process of connecting tenants to the homeowners.
GrabHostel ensures that the houses and apartments listed in the directory are of good quality, safe, and legitimate businesses.
But of course the website isn’t just for students from other places. GrabHostel is also free to use by anyone, whether you’re a local looking to transfer apartments or a tourist looking for a transient house.
There are future plans on expanding GrabHostel’s services to other cities, such as San Jose Cabanatuan and Muñoz city in Nueva Ecija and Metro Manila. Grab Hostel will also be available in app form downloadable through Google Play and the App Store. Watch out for that!
So if you’re looking to transfer to Baguio or to simply stay a short while, check out www.grabhostel.com. Also, if you know someone who needs a place refer them to this service!
Grab Hostel’s launch was organized by the Event Police. Contact them for your event needs!
